The pain point

Mall and commercial waste defaults to landfill because no single operator handles mixed commercial waste at scale across multi-property portfolios — even when 39% is food and 18% is plastic with clear recovery paths.

How it works
  1. Aggregate mixed waste from 9 Pakuwon properties across Jakarta, BSD, and Semarang.
  2. Sort via MRF partner — split into recyclables, organics, and RDF streams.
  3. Redesign glass and bottle caps from Gandaria City Mall waste into terrazzo benches.
  4. Report tonnage and diversion monthly to the Pakuwon CSR team.

The pain point

Soft and multilayer plastics — sachets, snack wrappers, single-use films — have no commercial recycling market in Indonesia. ~53% of the country's plastic stream defaults to open burning or landfill, releasing dioxins and microplastics.

How it works
  1. Collect mixed plastics from mall and hotel partners across the Marriott × Pakuwon hospitality portfolio.
  2. Shred into filler material to be combined with cement or concrete.
  3. Cure into solid, construction-grade composite units.
  4. Deploy as benches, walls, and bricks across Pakuwon properties — closing the loop visibly.
